English

The present research was conducted with the aim of phenomenologically exploring political science students' experiences of job insecurity challenges in this field. A qualitative approach and interpretive phenomenological method were employed in this study. The study population comprised political science students from universities across the country in the year 2024 (1403 Iranian calendar). Researchers conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with 14 students using purposive sampling. Data collection was performed through interviews, and raw data were analyzed using grounded theory method and the three-stage coding approach of Strauss and Corbin (1990). Results revealed that from a total of 65 initially extracted codes, eight primary components were identified, including economic security, ethical issues, individual personality challenges, security threats, social problems, managerial weakness dimensions, academic challenges, and political dimensions. The related components were categorized into five main dimensions: educational, political, social, economic, and psychological aspects. The research findings exposed the extensive range of job insecurity threats in the political science field from students' perspectives. Based on the results, it is recommended that education and employment sector managers adopt strategies that can reduce job threats for political science students. This approach may contribute to enhancing educational productivity and improving the effectiveness of related organizations. The findings of the present study can be valuable and insightful for experts in public policy, internal security, and employment domains.
